The “Statement of Beliefs” of the North American Baptist Conference which has been adopted by Calvary Baptist Church are the basic, foundational core values of this church. In addition, there are other values relative to our convictions, ministry and commitment.

Core values are those values which express the reasons for our existence and the depth of our commitment to God. Core values express the convictions of the church, which we will not compromise. We know that we cannot earn God’s acceptance. He accepts us now and forever through faith in Jesus Christ and these core values express our relationship to Him, our faith and our commitment.

1. We value Worship  

Psalms 95:6, 7

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;  for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice,

•  We value worship as an active response to God whereby we declare and celebrate his worth, corporately and individually, through a Godly lifestyle.

2. We value Spiritual Growth  

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. 

• We insure the Bible is the foundation for preaching and teaching.

•  We provide opportunities for application-oriented Bible study, moving from knowledge to action and theory to ministry.

• We challenge all people to live a lifestyle that reflects Biblical teaching.

3. We value Family Ministry

Ephesians 3:14, 15 For this reason I kneel before the Father,  from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

• We strive to provide involvement, growth and service opportunities for all ages.

• We pay attention to and respond to the needs of the whole family.

• We design and engage ministry that is at times age particular while at other times it blends the whole family together.

4. We value Community Impact  

Matthew 28:19, 20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” 

•  We provide intentional opportunities for both individuals and ministries to serve our surrounding community, our country and our world.

• We design celebration and worship events throughout the year that involve and impact our community.

•  We strive to reach the unchurched and never churched community with the Gospel and love of Christ.

5. We value Authentic Relationships

John 13:34

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 

• We provide opportunities for church members and friends to build meaningful relationships.

• We create opportunities for fellowship to be strengthened and expanded.

• We strive to make the church a spiritual home where people are loved, prayed for, cared for, serve and are served.

• We value formal and active membership in our local church.
